Director Mateu Alemany announced Ousmane Dembele’s Camp Nou future in his latest speech.

“Obviously Ousmane Dembele does not want to stay at Barcelona. He no longer wants to be involved in the club’s project. The board told Dembele that he must leave the Camp Nou immediately. He will sold before January 31,” said Barcelona director Alemany.

Earlier, the Spanish press reported that Dembele rejected Barca’s offer to extend. Dembele’s agent, Moussa Sissoko, had a discussion with the club’s leadership, but the two sides could not find a common voice. The Camp Nou team confirmed that it could not pay the salary required by the winger born in 1997.

Coach Xavi and the leadership are not afraid to cross out the name of the player who has cost Barca more than 100 million euros.

Barca offered to pay Dembele a fixed salary of 7.5 million euros per season, with some extra provisions to help the French player earn up to 11 million euros. However, the representative of Sissoko announced that the contract will only be extended if the client’s income is guaranteed, at least the same (12 million euros per year in fixed salary, excluding bonuses).

Coach (coach) Xavi Hernandez also showed a tough attitude to the French student: “Dembele has 2 options, renew his contract or leave the club”.

This season, Dembele played a total of 10 matches in all competitions and contributed 2 assists. Despite the good performance of the former Dortmund player, the Barca leadership still decided to remove Dembele’s name from the plan.

“No player can be bigger than the team”, is the slogan that President Joan Laporta exhorted after being re-elected. Even Lionel Messi, a player whose name is associated with Camp Nou, has to leave in the summer transfer window of 2021.

Juventus and a number of clubs in the Premier League, including Newcastle, are ready to roll out the red carpet to welcome the French winger.

Barca spent 140 million euros to recruit Dembele from Dortmund to replace Neymar. The deal soon turned into disappointment as Dembele spent more time in the hospital bed than on the field.

In nearly five seasons, Dembele made 128 appearances for Barca, scoring 31 goals and providing 24 assists. Statistics from Transfermarkt show that the French player had to miss nearly 700 days due to injury at Barca.
