Conte was the manager of the Blues from 2016 to 2018, a two-year span that saw him win the Premier League and FA Cup.
During the Italian manager’s first season at Stamford Bridge, Christensen was on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach. The player returned to London the following season and became Conte’s No 3, making 40 appearances in all competitions for the Blues.
Christensen received three important lessons from the current Tottenham Hotspur manager: ” Conte taught me to believe in myself, to let go of my personality and to play as a team instead of an individual defender . Being young, turning 21, going straight into a back three is a big task but I’ve learned from everyone.”
Christensen is out of contract this summer and will leave Chelsea on a free transfer at the end of the season if he does not sign a new contract. Christensen added when he was dropped from the squad recently: ” For me, my biggest lesson is listening.”
“I’ve had times where I didn’t play in the first team. The way to come back is to listen to the coach. What does he want you to do differently? If you don’t listen you don’t know what you need to improve on. .”
