Nottingham Forest have reached an agreement with Manchester United to loan Dean Henderson for the 2022/23 season.
The deal will not include an option for Forest, who were promoted back to the Premier League through the play-offs last season, to buy the England international.
Henderson’s contract with Manchester United expires in 2025 after signing a new five-year deal in 2020.
The 25-year-old enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Sheffield United between 2018 and 2020 but has struggled to keep David de Gea out of the No. 1 spot at Old Trafford . Henderson played just four games for United last season, none of which came in the Premier League.
The goalkeeper’s arrival at the City Stadium is expected to accelerate Blaise Samba’s move to Lens, with the French club in advanced talks with Forest over the goalkeeper.
