Over a decade in charge of PSG, president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is having the right strategies to develop the team. Money is an important factor and it helps PSG shorten the process of becoming a European power. A series of transfer fees have been injected into the market, thereby attracting many world-class stars to the capital of light.
The public respect for Al-Khelafi does not simply come from his focus on expanding his influence through contracts in the market. PSG has other plans to renew themselves as the club continuously implements methodical strategies.
Accordingly, Al-Khelaifi is coming up with a plan to increase the club’s revenue. This will include the addition of 10,000 new seats and VIP areas, which will earn the club significant cash. The cost of the project is rumored to be around €200 million, with PSG essentially planning to build a Sports City in Paris.
Fans love the Parc des Princes stadium built in the early 1970s, but the city’s cramped quarters didn’t necessarily help the club. The Paris Stadium has a capacity of only 47,000 spectators and this is not befitting a club with Neymar, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe in the starting lineup.
The demand for tickets is high and the stadium is often full, so fans often gather outside the stadium in the hope that the club will expand the stands. The dream of owning a stadium the size of Camp Nou or Estadio Santiago Bernabeu becomes a goal of PSG.
If the process goes smoothly, the capacity of the Parc des Princes will be increased to 60,000 seats. On top of that, creating VIP seating will bring in a lot of money, especially given the lure of club games that are now A-class.
Accompanying this task, PSG is also focusing on building a new training center. The training area can accommodate 180 people and this is where modern equipment is invested to serve the training process of the players.
These moves show that PSG is very interested in building infrastructure, which is important to create the club’s sustainable success. PSG has a long-term vision and methodical plans that are not inferior to any other club. Speaking to see, the success of PSG does not only come from buying “blockbuster” but it belongs to the scientific football making process.
