Many players who helped Hanoi FC achieve much success in the 2018-2019 period were down in form and injured.
The two years 2018 and 2019 can be considered as the most successful period of Hanoi FC under coach Chu Dinh Nghiem. The capital team won the V.League, National Cup and Super Cup, reaching the AFC Cup inter-regional final during this period. That achievement bears the mark of the group Nguyen Quang Hai, Tran Dinh Trong, Do Duy Manh, Doan Van Hau and foreign soldiers Moses Oloya, Pape Omar. Photo: Minh Chien.
Tran Dinh Trong, one of the best central defenders of the Vietnamese team, is a typical example of the decline of the star Hanoi club. He repeatedly relapsed with injuries, gradually losing his main kick before parting with the capital team to dock in Binh Dinh earlier this year. Photo: Minh Chien.
Injury is also the reason why Doan Van Hau, the most potential left-back of Vietnamese football, has not been able to return. Van Hau just returned from surgery in Korea, has not played for Hanoi club this season. Photo: Minh Chien.
Do Duy Manh (right) has not been able to return after a recent shoulder injury while serving the national team. Like Dinh Trong and Van Hau, Duy Manh is an important nucleus to help Hanoi Club conquer the 2019 treble. Photo: Ngoc Le.
The 2019 V.League championship has a significant contribution from Pape Omar (left), when he scored 15 goals in 23 main matches, winning the tournament’s top scorer title. In 2020, he left Hanoi Club to join Binh Duong from 2021. Photo: Quang Thinh.
Moses Oloya (left) also parted ways with Hanoi FC after 5 years of service. During the last time in the capital team, Moses did not play much due to injury, but was revived strongly in the color of Hai Phong club, helping the team to fly high on the V.League 2022 rankings. Photo: Minh War.
The next member of the star group of Hanoi Club is the best attacking player of the Vietnamese team, Nguyen Quang Hai. He will be out of contract in April, can go abroad to play if the capital team cannot successfully keep it.
